Privacy Policy

Last updated 12 September 2026.

This explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Using Inkriel means you understand this policy.

1. What we collect

If you only browse: pages you open, device/browser type, approximate network location from IP, and a session id for traffic stats. If you sign in: Google or X user id, name, email, and profile photo if the provider sends them; or the email and password hash if you use email sign-in (we do not store your password in plain text). If you use the product: public username and bio; serials, covers, and chapters you save; episode and character notes; a public Patreon URL if you add one. Automatically: cookies or session tokens to keep you signed in; Google Analytics 4 for traffic; hosting logs; database records. Native Inkriel card payments are not live. We do not receive Patreon passwords, payment details, membership records, or billing information.

2. Why we use it

To run the site, keep you signed in, show your public books to readers, prevent abuse, measure traffic, and contact you about the account if needed. We process this to provide the service you asked for and to operate a safe site. Where a cookie law requires consent, analytics cookies are the optional part.

3. Who sees it and who processes it

You, and for public books other readers (title, cover, published chapters, public username, and a Patreon URL if the creator added one — shown on their profile, novels, and chapter endings). We use these providers: Vercel (website hosting), Neon (Postgres database for accounts, stories, pageviews, and contact messages), Google (sign-in and Google Analytics 4), and X when you choose X sign-in. We do not sell your email list. We may disclose information if the law requires it. After a reader clicks a Patreon link, Patreon may collect information; readers should review Patreon’s privacy policy.

4. Cookies

Essential cookies keep you logged in. Analytics cookies help us see which pages are used. You can block cookies in your browser; the site may not stay signed in.

5. How long we keep it

Account profile and unpublished drafts: while the account exists. After a verified deletion request we aim to remove personal account data within 30 days; encrypted backups may linger up to 90 days. Published chapters stay until you unpublish or we remove them under the Terms. Contact-form messages: until handled, then up to 24 months if needed for a legal or safety record. Google Analytics 4: 14 months. Hosting/server logs: typically up to 30 days.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information, or object to some processing. Sign-in data also follows Google’s or X’s controls. To delete an Inkriel account and personal profile data, use Contact from the same email as your account, or the account controls in Settings when available. Public chapters should be unpublished first.

7. Children

The service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

8. Where data is processed

Vercel, Neon, and Google may process data in more than one country as part of running the site. The public operator name is Inkriel Studios (inkrielstudios.com).

9. Changes

We will update the date above when this policy changes.

10. Contact

Privacy and legal requests: use the Contact form and choose Privacy, Legal, or Copyright. Support: choose Support. Dedicated support and legal/privacy email addresses will be added on the Contact page when they exist. Use the same email as your account for deletion requests so we can verify it is you.
